LET’S BE A SAMPLE OF UNION AND HARMONY..

In a period of 50 years that we have left behind, the goal of the oppressive policies and educational systems applied by the dominating regimes in Iraq has been to provide that individuals do not think about anything with regard to the interests of the society and that they only but only serve the interests of the regime.

The past regimes in Iraq have been successful in this project and as a consequence a “brainwashed” society has been created. As a result the Turcoman people in Iraq have (overwhelmingly) been subject to these systematic practices and been distanced from their own spirit, traditions and customs. Nowadays, we observe that our youth is insensitive and displays some weird behavior and the main reason for this is the education system that has been imposed on them in the past.

With the occupation of Iraq, certain taboos have been eradicated which was raising hopes in the very beginning. However, the people was not experienced in organizing itself especially in the area of politics as a result of which a lot of turmoil was caused leading to their staggering. The occupation forces and the planners of all what was happening took advantage of this opportunity and succeeded in exploiting this weak side of the society. Thus, in case the Iraqi people shall not recover itself without making any distinction in religion, language, religious sect or nationality; this terrible course of the country shall continue until the last Iraqi disappears.

Our country experiences harsh days. The people - that has shared for many years the same destiny, happiness and difficulties on the same territory – should not surrender to the extreme elements of certain foreign foci. Our people should not become part of the game striving for ethnic and religious discrimination. Even though we are members of different nationalities and religious sects, we should not forget that we are in essence the same. We all know that none of us is superior to the other, except the Taqwa. Moreover, Allah commands us the following: “Hold on tightly to the rope of Allah.” We should not forget that only if we unite together we can rescue ourselves from this whirlpool, otherwise we shall be convicted to annihilation.

Today we are living in a period that is more than ever in need for peace, confidence, brotherhood, tolerance and friendship. Let’s unite and strive for peace. Because these territories are wide enough for everyone…If this is so, what is the reason for this grudge and this hatred? Nobody has the guarantee to live forever. Look at what they have done to us in Talafar…Look at the games that are played in Al-Sadr and Fallujah… Look at the miserable situation of the people living in Baghdad… Look at the wall that is being constructed in Azamiyyah while the walls all over the world are being flattened…Look at all the suffer of the citizens in Basra, Bakuba and Ramadi… And look at the action aimed at provoking Kirkuk…! Don’t you ever ask yourself ‘WHAT IS GOING ON?’ Please ask this question to yourself and take immediate action. Yet, the Turcomans in Talafar should immediately unite and take joint action. Otherwise, there is no way to prevent that the Kurdish parties achieve their goal in the region! The only solution is to leave history aside and prevent that the games that were played on the Turcomans shall be played in Talafar.

Those who put us in this situation…They talk about dialogue among civilizations, cultures and religions. Then, why are we used as an instrument for such kind of games? Why do we deprive ourselves from such kind of dialogue? As a matter of fact, it is not very difficult to create societies where moral values, happiness, peace, security and welfare is prominent. Everything is in our hands…

I am calling out to you as a Turcoman citizen: My ancestors have always advised me to be tolerant and not to discriminate. My ancestors have for many centuries carried with fame and honor the flag of our Master Resuli Akram to every corner of the world. They have hold on tightly to the saying of our Prophet : “Unite and get stronger”. They have never discriminated. Come on…Let’s rely on our joint belief, tradition and history to unite just as our ancestors did. Let’s together get rid off all the hindrances on our road . Let’s reveal the games that are being played. Let’s then live forever in brotherhood. Do not forget that we are the passengers on the same ship..!!

Taking this into consideration, there are certain responsibilities that the whole Turcoman society should assume without making any distinction of religious sect. The main responsibility is “to constitute the core of this union and harmony”. More than ever do we need this harmony and union of rhetoric. If we want to liberate our country, if we search for welfare and peace; we should become an example for the Iraqi people. Therefore our intellectuals, our political and civilian institutions, our radio and television should inoculate this conscious to our society. The Turcoman people should be the sample core for the whole of Iraq.
